Hi! I'm Lorraine
I am a contemporary artist originally from the Philippines and now based in Prague. Inspired by Swiss nature, memory and quiet landscapes, I create original acrylic paintings that invite viewers to pause and reconnect with themselves.
I grew up as the youngest in a large family, surrounded by love, laughter and happy memories. I was the playful one, always dancing, making people laugh and finding joy in the smallest things. That sense of joy has stayed with me and continues to shape how I see the world.
Art was not a central part of my childhood, although creativity appeared in small, memorable ways. I still remember my Papa helping my sister with a school art project. At the time, art did not feel like a practical path, so that part of me remained quietly in the background for many years.
In my forties, I finally gave myself the freedom to explore it. I began simply, with paint by numbers, but completing that first piece gave me a deep sense of fulfilment. Soon afterwards, I challenged myself to paint without a guide and follow my own intuition. My first original acrylic painting was a gift for my parents in law on their anniversary. I painted it from the heart, and their response gave me the confidence to continue.
What began as a personal source of peace and joy gradually became an important part of my life. My family supported my work, and my husband encouraged me to share it beyond our home. His belief in me helped turn a private creative practice into the journey that became Lorraine Artsy.
When I paint, the noise around me falls away. I focus on colour, movement and feeling, allowing each work to develop intuitively. Painting reconnects me with a part of myself that had been waiting quietly for years. I hope viewers experience that same sense of calm and inner connection through my work.
Today, my work is presented through exhibitions and creative partnerships, while my paintings have found homes in private homes, boutique hotels, offices, studios and curated interiors. Wherever they are placed, I hope they offer a moment of stillness and invite people to step beyond the noise of everyday life.
